This glove was posted a week or two ago.  I found it and saw that someone wrote on it.  I posted this because I was aware that things like this would happen.  I was tempted to take the glove down, but I won't because these gloves are important to me.  Taking them down because someone writes on them is like taking two steps back.  But I wonder about putting up a new glove in place of this one.  What message am I sending then?  I honestly don't know.  I'll think this one over for some time.

Pictures of gloves!

here are the first batch of gloves that I've posted around my college campus.  So far these have not been torn down.

The gloves are starting to appear

Okay, so I've finally started to offically put gloves up.  Some gloves are on dorm room doors (by personal requests from some people) others are in restrooms, the mail room, and on napkin holders.  I've taken pictures of the gloves posted so you can see for youself.  I'll put the pictures up soon.

water proof gloves

I've thought about putting gloves outside, like on tree branches or on telephone polls, sides of buildings ect.  But if I put the gloves out and it rains the ink will run off.  So I've decided to laminate the gloves I place outside.  Of course I don't own a laminating machine, so my next option is tape.  That's right, clear packing tape.  We'll see how this works.  Hopefully it will be a postive result.  I'll tape both sides, so the glove will covered and protected from rain and snow.

starting to post up gloves

So I've started to post gloves up around my campus.  The battery on my camera was out for a while because I haven't charged it.  But now I have, so I can carry my camera around with me and take photographs of my gloves.  I hung one up inside the stall of a bathroom.  It only lasted a few hours before someone ripped it down.  I know this because I saw the glove crumpled in the garabge can.  Well I know my project for some people is hard to understand, but I'm just going to keep posting because this is important to me.

Description of the Michael Jackson Poetry Project

Michael Jackson is a legend, muscian, king, and poet.  His music has changed, challenged, and improved the world.  There are millions of fans around the globe devoted to Michael.  It is time we showed the world just how dedicated we are as fans of Michael.  I have created paper gloves with stanzas from several of Michael's songs (there is also a blank glove if you want to create your own decoration or write other stanzas from Michael's songs).  I'll be posting gloves around my college campus and surrounding areas.  If you would like to participate all you need to do is print and cut out one of the gloves (or as many as you want).  Then post your glove up somewhere in your neiborhood, school, city, or park.  If you would like to post a glove up in a business, seek permission from a manager or owner.  If you live in an area tha contains public transportation such as trains, buses, or subway systems then you can post your glove on the doors, seats, or walls of the transit systems.  You can even pin your glove to your shirt, backpack or jacket and wear it proudly.  If you have other ideas than the ones listed above-go for it, be creative!  Then take a picture and post it up on this blog.  It's my goal to have gloves all over the world.  Let's band together as fans and spread Michael's music to the world!
